Newspaper of Arenzville, Ill.February 1937 Luther Fry died at 1:00 o'clock Wednesday morning at the home of his daughter Mrs. Lee McGinnis, three and one-half miles south of town. He was born in Morristown, Virginit, [Morgantown, West Virginia] June 28, 2848. His wife preceded him in death May 17, 1920. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Henry Lawrence, Portland, Oregon; Ben Fry, Dexter, Iowa; Mrs. Lee McGinnis, Arenzville (Ill.). One son Lawrence preceded him in death. Also survived by the following brothers and sisters; Ben Fry, Stewart, Iowa; Lidge Fry, Redfield, Iowa; James Fry, Los Angeles, California; one sister Mrs. Jane Snapp, Dexter, Iowa; two sisters and one brother preceded him in death. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. He made his home with his daughter Mrs. Lee McGinnis for the past fifteen years. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Simpson Funeral Home, with Rev. C.W. Andrews of Concord (Ill.), officiating. He was taken to Dexter, Iowa Friday morning overland for burial. Two hymns were sung: "In the Garden," and "Ivory Palaces," by Mrs. H.C. Johnson and Alice Giger, accompanied by Mrs. Farrell Cooper.
