Obituary for Evie Louise Bigham Ulmer

West Point - Evie Louise Bigham Ulmer, 82, passed away, on December 6, 2015 at North Ms Medical Center in West Point. She was born in Choctaw County March 27, 1933 to the late Norman E. and Ethel D. Powers Bigham. She was a resident of West Point and a member of West End Baptist Church where she had been a nursery worker for the past 55 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Mr. Billy Ulmer Jr;, two brothers, Ralph and Emmett Bigham;, three sisters, Lydia Reed, Vinita Oswalt and Virginia Bigham; and a son in law, Frenchy Duhon.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 12:30 PM in West End Baptist Church in West Point with Reverend Chris Layton officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Methodist Cemetery in Reform, Ms..

Survivors include three daughters, Ethel Linda Busby (M.P.) of Ackerman, Ms., Bettye Louise Duhon of Biloxi, Ms. and Lynita Jean Gaskin (Jim) of West Point, three sons, William Steve Ulmer (Brenda) of Mathiston, Robert Byron Ulmer of Hattiesburg, and Carl Alan Ulmer (Lisa) of Caledonia, 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be David Busby, Colin Dyer, Chris Gaskin, Shane Phariss, Dale Bigham, Royce Bigham and Patrick Bigham.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of West End Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to West End Childrens Ministry, 543 Old White RoadSouth, West Point, Ms. 39773 or to Mission of Hope Ministries, P O Box 8504, West Point, Ms. 39773.

Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 PM Wednesday at Calvert Funeral Home and 11:30-12:30 PM Thursday at the church.
