She was born on December 17, 1932 in Roanoke, IL to Battista and Anna Pittavina Bussone. She married Harrison “Jake” Janssen on June 29, 1957 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Roanoke. He passed away on November 13, 2006 in Roanoke.
Surviving are her two daughters, Deborah (Don) Reilman of Roanoke; Cynthia (Jack) Heyungs of Secor; three grandsons, Aaron of Roanoke; Ethan of Grant Park; and Reuben of Roanoke; one sister-in-law, Betty Brumfield; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Mario Bussone and his wife Shirley; three brother-in-laws; two additional sister-in-laws; and a nephew.
Rose Mary graduated from Roanoke Victory High School. She worked at McKesson and Robins in Peoria and Garber’s Sundries in Roanoke, both for a number of years. Later in life, she cleaned homes in Roanoke for several years.
Rose Mary loved to work in her vegetable and flower gardens, she enjoyed completing word search puzzles and volunteering at the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke. She enjoyed camping and traveling with her family and especially enjoyed her family’s annual fishing trip to Missouri.
She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Roanoke where funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday December 9th. Monsignor Charles Beebe will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9-11 am on Wednesday prior to the services at the church. Burial will be held in Roanoke Township Cemetery.
