Samuel born 15 Aug 1750 Voluntown, New London, CT, USA, was doubtlessly the Samuel Morey who, with his brother Joseph Morey was fined £5/0/0 on 09 Mar 1762 for stealing by Jeremiah Kinne, J.P. of Voluntown. Samuel was then not yet 12 years of age. He may well have been the Samuel Morey admitted from Northford on 26 Jun 1774 to the Congregational Society of Northbury at Plymouth CT. The unnamed "wife of Samuel Morey" was admitted 29 Oct 1775. Samuel's sister Mary and her husband Timothy Crosby had moved there, where on 21 Jun 1767 their daughter Molly Crosby was christened.
By 13 May 1785 Samuel Morey had followed his brother Philomon Morey to Rutland, Rutland, VT, USA.
