Alfred "Pete" Ruetz, 85, of Napoleon, Ohio died on Monday, October 26, 2015 at the Lutheran Home of Napoleon. He was born June 3, 1930 in Napoleon, Ohio to the late Alfred and Mildred (Babcock) Ruetz.
Pete spent much of his early years at the school for the Deaf in Columbus, Ohio. For many years he worked at the egg auction and truck stop in Napoleon. He was often seen on long walks around town greeting people. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Napoleon and Good Shepherd of the Deaf Lutheran Church in Toledo. Pete especially enjoyed the time he spent with his friends at Hope Senior Services.
He is survived by his sister, Marilyn (Howard) Dehnbostel, Diamondhead, Mississippi; step brother, Walter (Lorna) Hougland, Napoleon; and step sister, Marlene Fast, Gainesville, Florida.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 30 at 11:00 a.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon. Interment will be held privately.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 30 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon.
Memorials are suggested to Good Shepherd of the Deaf Lutheran Church, 5659 Elmer Dr., Toledo, Ohio 43615 or charity of donor's choice.
