About 3 o'clock on Friday afternoon [8/11] the boiler of Brothers and Woodward's saw mill, about five miles northwest of Greencastle exploded, killing two men named Robert M. Bradshaw and Martin Wesch... the entire engine was blown about 75 feet, The cause of the explosion is not known.

Civil War veteran, Pvt. Co. C, 71st IN Infantry, 7/19/1862 - 7/15/1863, he was disabled at the time of his release.
