Evelyn Mae Dakins, 88, of Cumberland, Wisconsin died Wednesday, December 2nd, 2015 in Omaha, Nebraska.
Evelyn was born May 17, 1927 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She lived with her parents Leon and Bessie Coolidge north of Birchwood in the Yarnell area during her early years and graduated from Birchwood High School in 1945. She was a bookkeeper for several years and she and her husband owned Don's Bait and Sport Shop in Cumberland from 1967-1979. Evelyn was an active member of Cumberland First Lutheran Church for many years, Cumberland Memorial Hospital E.C.U. Auxiliary and the Birchwood Historical Society. She was a certified nursing assistant at the Cumberland E.C.U. for 15 years, practiced in home care for several years, and worked as a Peer Counselor for Barron Co. Office on Aging.
Evelyn is survived by 1 daughter, Barbara Foote of Omaha, Nebraska; 2 sons, Bruce (Maxine) Dakins of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, and Scott (Michael Hart) Dakins of Seattle, Washington; 3 grandchildren, Jessica (Mike) Rudol of Bellevue Nebraska, Jeremy Foote of Omaha, Nebraska and Logan Kory Shepard of Seattle, Washington; 2 great-grandchildren, Joseph and Matthew Rudol; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, December 7, 2015 at First Lutheran Church, Cumberland, WI with Rev. Timothy Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Birchwood, WI. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 on Sunday at Skinner Funeral Home, Cumberland and one hour prior to service on Monday at the church.
