Harold 'Butch' Maple
Harold F. "Butch" Maple, 69, of Hannibal, Mo., passed away at 7:56 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Burial will be at the Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal, Mo.
Friends and Family are invited to Butch's Life Celebration at a visitation from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.
Butch was born Oct. 11, 1946, in Hannibal, Mo., to Harold T. and Anna C. Poppe Maple.
He was married to Beverly Burwinkel on June 17, 1972, at the First Baptist Church in Palmyra, Mo. She survives.
Other survivors include one son, H. David Maple (Jill) of Hannibal, Mo.; one sister, Joyce Maple of Hannibal, Mo.; and three grandchildren, H. Michael Maple, Matthew Maple and Anna Maple.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Timothy J. Maple; and his aunts and uncles.
Butch previously worked for both Firestone and BASF for over 40 years in the maintenance departments of each company. He was presently employed as a security guard with the G4S Company at BASF.
Butch enjoyed hunting, target shooting and trap shooting. He also loved to read any kind of history, especially anything about the Civil War or World War II. The simple pleasures in life were some of Butch’s most treasured. He liked to go for drives with his wife, Beverly, especially in the fall and down by the river. Most of all Butch loved his family and enjoyed time spent with them, especially his grandchildren.
He preached at Westside Christian Church in Hannibal in the late 1990's and early 2000's.
