Phyllis June Barnes Brown, 69, of Bedford, KY peacefully passed away after a long battle with cancer on December 4, 2015 at Baptist Northeast in LaGrange, KY. She was born on June 5, 1946 to the late Obie and Mary Jane Williams Barnes in Bedford, KY.
Phyllis was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church where she served faithfully. She enjoyed playing cards while gathering with friends and family, reading, puzzle books, going to the library, watching hummingbirds and most of all she enjoyed her time she spent with her family and especially her beloved grandchildren.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her loving children; Shane Brown and his wife Angela of Milton, KY and Denise Smith and her husband Rob of Sanders, KY. 3 Grandchildren.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her beloved parents, her husband of 40 years Delbert Brown, her brothers; Dwight, Louie and Kenny Barnes.

Phyllis June Barnes Brown, 69, of Bedford, Ky., died Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, at Baptist Health in La Grange, Ky.

She was born June 5, 1946, in Bedford, Ky., to Obie and Mary Jane Williams Barnes. She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, puzzle books, going to the library, watching hummingbirds and spending time with family.

She is survived by two children, Shane Brown of Milton, Ky., and Denise Smith of Sanders, Ky.; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Delbert Brown; her parents; and three brothers, Dwight Barnes, Louie Barnes and Kenny Barnes.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ransdell Funeral Home in Bedford, Ky. Burial will be in Bedford Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the service.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Trimble County Public Library. Contributions can be made through the funeral home.
