John S. Bowden of West State street, a lifelong resident of the county, died Saturday morning at
11 o'clock at the Shenango Valley hospital. He had been ill some time suffering from a complication of diseases, and had been at the hospital only a few days.

Mr. Bowden was 60 years, 9 months and 19 days of age. He was born in this city and was one of it's well respected residents. For many years he was with the B. U. Young company and of late, had been with the Smith, Dagget and Kurtz company. He was an Industrious and painstaking workman, and was a man of many fine traits.

He was a member of the First Baptist church, and fraternally, was connected with the Maccabees.

Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Rachel Bowden, two sons, Fred E. and John A. Jr., both at home, and two daughters, Mrs. J. Evans, Girard, O., and Miss Charlotte at home. He leaves also two sisters, Mrs. J. D. Lowry of Butler, and Mrs. Wilson Martin, of Iowa.
