Earl W. Whitfield, age 95, of Hot Springs, died Sunday, August 27, 2006.

He was born on June 25, 1911 at Beaton, Arkansas, the son of Ruben Whitfield and Ava Plats Whitfield. On December 25,1942, he was married to Genetta Phillips. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and three sisters.

He was a retired watchmaker and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.

He is survived by his wife, Genetta Whitfield of Hot Springs; one daughter and son-in-law, Pamela Sue Johnson and her husband, Mark of Hot Springs; one brother-in-law, Noah Phillips of Hot Springs; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 31, 2006 in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs with Rev. Ken Carney officiating.

Interment will be in the Phillipi Cemetery, Point Cedar under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
