Robert L. Greene, Sr., 58, of Gosport, died Sunday, November 22, 2015 at IU Health-Bloomington Hospital.
He was the son of Robert Greene of Cunot and Ruth Watson Greene of Mooresville.
Bobby attended Hall Elementary and Monrovia Jr.-Sr. High School. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy. He was a Christian, a truck driver, and Scoutmaster for Troop 218, BSA.
Bobby loved to fish, garden, play pool, swim, and have fun with his family. Most of all he loved to cook and bake pies.
He is survived by his wife, Becky Slade Greene, Gosport; children, Rachael Bowling, Lu Verne, Iowa, Tanya Bradford, Safety Harbor, Florida; Rob “Bobby” Jr., and James Greene, Gosport; stepchildren, Jenn, Ryan and Jack; siblings, Richard Greene, Channelview, Texas, Beverly Fox, Plainfield, Patricia Morgan, Martinsville, Shirley Cox, Mooresville, Ronald Greene, Bloomington, and Donna Greene, Niagara Falls, Ontario; 15 grandchildren; 25 nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by both parents, Robert and Ruth Watson Greene; grandmother, Doris F. Greene; and maternal grandparents, Ollie and Cornelia Watson.
Friends and family will gather to celebrate Bobby’s life from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at the Owen Valley Sports Complex, 575 5th Avenue, Spencer, IN 47460. Bring a covered dish for a pitch-in dinner. Come share and hear stories, memories, struggles, triumphs, adventures and misadventures from the life and times of Bobby Greene.
