Albert married Louisa Virginia Wilson on 6 Jan 1863 in Fisherville, Virginia. To this union, three children were born:

Martha W. Dodamead Davis
Laura Eleanor Dodamead
Albert C. Dodamead

- Private in Company B, 160th Virginia Regiment, Virginia militia.; he served as a telegraph operator. At the age of 24, he was captured by Union soldiers.

- First Noble Grand of Repiton Lodge (I.O.O.F.) His membership was transferred from Columbia, SC in 1888.
