Paul B. Dysart
.
Paul B. Dysart passed away in Baton Rouge on Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at the age of 93. Paul was born in Tyrone, Pennsylvania, to Paul J. and Theresa Rodgers Dysart on October 11, 1922. After graduating from Tyrone High School in 1940, he joined the Army Air Corps and served twice overseas during WWIIs serving in the 13th and 14th Air Corps. During his enlistment, Paul came to Harding Field (now Baton Rouge Airport) where he met his future wife, Tiny Caillouet. They were married at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX, on July 29, 1942. After leaving the service, Paul joined Humble Oil (now Exxon Refinery) in Baton Rouge and worked for 32 years. He also taught sheet metal at the Baton Rouge Vocational Technical School for 14 years. Paul and Tiny raised their family of five children in the old Standard Heights area of town. Paul rode his bicycle to work so that Tiny could shuttle the kids back and forth to school, Boy Scouts, Blue Birds and other school activities. Paul loved to fish and enjoyed doing so with his three sons, neighbors or anyone willing. Fried catfish or crawfish were standard meals for Friday night supper. Paul and Tiny enjoyed bowling together for many years. After retirement, Paul kept busy building things and passing time on the front porch swing with his neighbors, solving the nation's political and financial woes. Paul is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Tiny C. Dysart; his parents; two older brothers, Edward and Charles; grandson James Paul Dysart; and son-in-law Stephen Halverson. Survivors include sons Paul E. Dysart and wife Carmel, James R. Dysart and wife Kay, and John B. Dysart; daughters Theresa Dysart Halverson and Deborah Dysart Rogers and husband Greg; eight grandchildren, Stephen Bourgeois, Rebecca Bourgeois-Hutchens, Kristin Dysart, Julie Dysart Swindell, P. J. Dysart, Ginger Rogers Hubbard, Marc Dysart and Lauren Rogers; and ten great-grandchildren, George and Owen Nassif, Aaron and Jacob Bourgeois, Lise', Abri and Braxton Swindell, Oliver Rodriguez, Eliana Dysart, and Maren Hubbard. The family will receive friends for visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA 70815, from 10 am until Funeral Service at 12 pm. Interment will follow on the grounds of Roselawn Memorial Park in the Caillouet Family Estate.
