Mr McCartney came to Perkins seven years ago and worked here or near here in the oil fields ever since. His son Luke McCartney from Winfield, Kans., was at his bedside when the end came.
He leaves to mourn his passing, 2 sons, John McCartney, of Woodward, and Luke and two daughters from Winfield.
Funeral was held Saturday morning in the Catholic Church at Cushing and the body was laid to rest in the Cushing Catholic cemetery.
Besides his children, he leaves other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
