Mrs. Standrod, age 97 died on Saturday November 28, 2015 at Golden Age Nursing Home of heart failure.
She was born on April 27, 1918 in Carroll County, MS to the late James Smith Alford and Freddie Randall Alford and lived in the Greenwood area for all of her life. She retired from Baldwin Piano after fifteen years of service.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Floyd Standrod, her parents James Smith and Freddie Randall Alford, brothers, Verbon Alford, Herman Alford, Talmage Alford, Noah Alford, Noel Alford, S.J. Alford, Afton Alford, Ocie Alford, Laurie Standrod and Reed Alford, two sisters and Norma Alford and Agnes Alford, and one grandchild.
She is survived by two sons, James Standrod Sr of Coila and Jerry Standrod of Brookhaven, grandchildren, Cheryl Lindsey, James K. “Bubba” Standrod Jr, Jerry Christopher Gregory, Cindy Lynn Gregory, Rudy Allen Standrod, Michael Standrod, thirteen Great Grand Children and one Great Great Grandchild.
Edwin Saunders will officiate the services.
Pallbearers will be Bubba Standrod, Johnny Lindsey, Rudy Standrod, Lake Lindsey, Jacob Lindsey, and Mason Standrod. Williams & Lord Funeral Home is in charge.
