Born March 6, 1942, in
Annapolis, she was the daughter of
the Rev. Mowbray Bowen of Finksburg
and the late Hazel Virginia
Sears Bowen. She was the wife of
Gordon Melvin Boring.
~ Before retiring in 1986, she
worked for the State of Maryland.
She graduated from Annapolis
High School in 1960. She was a
member, of Emory United
Methodist Church in Upperco. She
was active in the United Methodist
Women and served as the chair of
the Council on Ministries for 1983
and 1984.
Surviving, in addition to her hus-
band, are sons Erik Louis Boring of
Baltimore and Joseph Dell Boring
of Finksburg; sister Carolyn B.
Thurber of Derwood; brother Don
Bowen of Austin, Texas; and
numerous nieces and nephews.
Interment will be in Emory
Church Cemetery.
