Funeral services for Ollie Clyde Agnew, 72, of Route 4, Tyler are set for 2 pm Thursday at the Walnut Grove First United Methodist Church in Smith County with the Rev. Brady Williams officiating.

Burial will be in the Walnut Grove Cemetery under the direction of Forester Funeral Home of Troup.

He died at 11:30 pm Tuesday in a Tyler hospital after a brief illness.

He was a lifelong resident of Smith County and was a retired merchant and farmer.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Walnut Grove.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Rhoda Agnew of Tyelr, one daughter, Mrs. Elouise Goodale of Tyler; three brothers, Dick Agnew and Claude Agnew, both of Whitehouse, and Fred Agnew of Oklahoma; three sisters, Mrs. Gladys Leard, Mrs. Opal Davenport and Mrs. Joy Kitchens, all of Tyler; and one grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Homer Farmer, David West, Thomas West, J.W. Kitchens, Lovic Steele and Olen Funderburg.

Mr. Agnew was born in Smith County, Texas and passed away at Doctor's Memorial Hospital in Tyler, Smith County, Texas of acute circulatory failure, coronary occulsion thrombosis and generalized arteriosclerosis. Forester Funeral Home handled the arrangements. He was a retired merchant and farmer. His parents were John Agnew and Bertie Byrrum.
