Kellogg, Idaho -- Funeral services for William H. Linhart, 62, fire chief here for more than 20 years, will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the United Church of Kellogg. Graveside rites will be held in the Masonic Section of Greenwood Cemetery by the American Legion and VFW.

Linhart died Sunday along with his grandson, Monte Neel, 16, of Spokane in an airplane crash near Moscow, Idaho.

Neel's rites are planned tomorrow at 1 p.m. at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home of Spokane.

Linhart was born July 3, 1915, in Haiter, Alberta, and moved here as a young man.

He joined the Kellogg Fire Department in 1935 and be- came assistant chief in 1940 and chief in 1955. He also has operated the Community Ambulance Service since 1958. He also headed a drive that developed the Jackass Ski Bowl, now Silverhorn Ski Area, and headed the annual Boy Scout first aid contests for the county.

Survivors are his wife, Mildred, at home; a son, Deni Bill of Kellogg: a daughter, Mrs. Monte (Vonda) Neel of Spokane; two brothers, including Ernest of Spokane; a sister; and three grandchildren.
