She was born Oct. 15, 1924, in Huntsville, Ala., the youngest of seven children. She was the daughter of the late Roland H. Goodson and Leona Belle Bain Goodson. She was a member of Central Baptist Church. She loved the theater and spent much of her early married years acting in the Altavista Little Theater. She was active in the Garden Club and several bridge clubs for many years. She loved to cook, especially sweets, antiquing with her friends and decorating. Marcheta took up folk art painting in the late 1950s when her motto became, "If it stands still, paint it!" She was loved and will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Clyde, Lloyd, Doyle and William Goodson, and two sisters, Elva Goodson Mahaffey and Thelma Goodson Boyd.
