Mrs. Laura Bell M. Smith, 79, of 973 Grant Ave. widow of George E. Smith, died Saturday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. E.L. Settlemyre, Arlington, Calif.
Mrs. Smith was a member of the LDS Mound Fort Ward.
She was born March 14, 1876 in Beaver, Utah, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Martin. The family moved to Preston, Idaho where she was reared and educated.
In 1896 she was married to Mr. Smith in the LDS Salt Lake Temple. They resided in Willard until 1917 when they moved to Ogden.
Surviving are five sons and three daughters: Leonard L Smith, George M. Smith, Daniel S Smith, Wilford Smith and Mrs. Fred (Thelma) Pewtress, Ogden; Charles G Smith, North Ogden; Mrs. James (Wanda) Bailey, Hermiston, Ore. Mrs. E. L. (Ila) Settlemyre, Arlington; 32 Grandchildren, Three sisters; Mrs. John (May) Fuel, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Alice Saxton, Preston, Idaho, and Mrs. Alget (Edith) Carlson, Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m.
