Blanche Jarvis Schroeder of Spooner died on Sunday, July 23, 1978, at the Spooner Community Memorial Hospital, at the age of 74.

Born in Spooner on February 11, 1904, to Robert Edgar and Clara Belle Jarvis, she was united in marriage to William George Schroeder on October 10, 1923. They resided in the Spooner area until 1926, and then in Superior until 1955, where she was active in the Central Methodist Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, and was chairman of the many wartime committees. They resided briefly in Lake Jackson, Tex. and in Alton, Ill., and returned to Spooner in April 1964.

She was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret S. Campbell, Washington, D.C.; a son, William George Schroeder, Jr.; and five grandchildren, Jacqueline Campbell of Columbia, Md., J. Mark of Diamond Bar, Calif., William S. of Arlington, Va., Brian B., and Michael S., of Washington D.C. and one great-grandchild.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Spooner, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Post 847 of Superior, and a past Department President of the State of Wisconsin, 1948-49, and a member of Hyacinth Chapter 128, Order of the Eastern Star.

Funeral services were held at the United Methodist Church on Tuesday, July 25, with burial in the Spooner Cemetery, the Rev. Veryl Schubert officiating. Dahl Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
