Cathy (Chestnut) Kunst, 71, of Ford City, died Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015, at her daughter's residence in Oviedo, Fla., due to cancer and complications. Born Sept. 6, 1944, in East Franklin, where she was a lifelong community resident, she was a daughter of Kenneth Andrew Chestnut and Bessie Marie Anthony Chestnut. She was retired from Millwood and Freedom Apartments of Ford City. Previously, she was a member of Holy Trinity Church and she was a current member of Christ, Prince of Peace Parish. She served as a Eucharistic minister and had a deep faith in God. Her hobbies included studying her Bible, reading and crocheting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Joseph W. Kunst; and siblings, Kenneth, James, Samuel, Robert, Gerald, twin brother, John, twins, Jackie and Barbara, and Richard. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Joseph Richard Kunst; daughters, Brenda and Rich Jurbala, of Florida, Jacqueline and Edward Skukalek, of Kittanning, and Melissa and Roy Gazzam, of Monessen; six grandchildren, Michael, Nicholas, Kristine, Joseph, Katherine and Rebecca; great-grandchildren, Dyllen, Triston, Dean and Logan; brother, William and Maryann Chestnut McGrann; and sisters, Wanda and Jim Hankey, of Kittanning, and Sandra Lettrich, of Decatur, Ill.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in MANTINI FUNERAL HOME INC., 701 Sixth Ave., Ford City, PA 16226, 724-763-9151, where prayer service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Mass of Christian Burial will follow 11 a.m. Saturday in Christ, Prince of Peace Parish, with Father John Harold officiating. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
