Stires Jade Keeney was born on May 26, 1869 in Lewiston, West Va., and passed away at Onaga, Kansas, May 3, 1953 at the age of 83 years, 11 mos. and 7 days.
He was united in marriage to Rosa Mentha on August 18, 1891. To this union five children were born. He joined the Presbyterian church at Neuchatel in early manhood and was engaged in farming in that neighborhood until his health, failed and he moved to Onaga in 1939.
He is survived by his wife, Rosa; three sons, Leroy and Earl of Onaga and Claude of Marysville; two daughters, Ida Umphenour of Silver Lake, and Blanche Stotts of Marysville; one sister, Mrs. Sallie Mouton of Onaga; also 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted by Dr. Ray Kelley at the Congregational Church in Onaga on May 6th at 2:00 P. M. Burial was in Neuchatel cemetery.
