Ness City -- Mell W. Wendler, 56, died Oct. 31, 1990, at his home at Ness City.

He was born Oct. 21, 1934, at Ness City, the son of Leo and Mary Meis Wendler.

A lifetime resident of Ness City, he was an engineer technician for the Kansas Department of Transportation. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ness City.

On June 6, 1960, he married Kathy Wildeman at Ness City. She survives.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Joby Henning, Ness City, and Jackie Pearson, Garden City; four brothers, Clarence, Dighton, Arthur, Nekoma, Virgil, Chapman, and Werner, Dodge City; two sisters, Lillian Karnowski, El Cajon, Calif., and Betty Demuth, Vallejo, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

Parish vigil service will be at 7:30 p.m. today at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City. Funeral Mass will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ness City, with Father Tom Wagner presiding. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Ness City.
