Arthur Hill was married to Annie Manchester. Annie was the sister of Hattie Lewis Manchester Young (my great-grandmother). Interestingly, when Arthur passed away, Annie then married Arthur L. Young who was the brother of Annie's sister's husband (Frank Norris Young).
Arthur and wife Annie had a daughter (Miriam Donaldson Hill) who passed away in her 2nd year. She is buried with her parents.
Arthur was an architect. He designed the Calvary Baptist Church on Broad Street in Providence, RI and the present ediface of the South United Methodist Church on Main Street in Manchester, Connecticut. Unfortunately, the work in Ct. was not completed until shortly after Arthur's death. A description of that work is: "The style of the church is tudor gothic. A square tower of 67' in height surmounted by turreted battlements is placed at the sw corner of the main building. It contains a bell from the old church and a memorial set of chime bells ranging in size from 275-2000 lbs.
The picture of Arthur, included here, was taken at the Narragansett Pier in Rhode Island, 1918.
The other picture is of the Calvary Baptist Church in Providence.
