Helge Samuel passed away on May 14, 1997 at Red Deer Regional Hospital after a long, valiant struggle with cancer He was born on August 21, 1922 at Sylvan Lake, the youngest son of Sam and Maria Abrahamson Helge farmed in the Half Moon Bay area until his move to the Seniors Lodge in Sylvan Lake in 1993 An avid stamp collector, he pursued his hobby until the end You could often find him sitting at the table solving jigsaw pu22les Also Helge had a great love and respect for nature and took an interest in gardening & bird watching Helge is survived by one brother Arvo of Sylvan Lake, numerous nieces and nephews and all his friends at the Lodge He was predeceased by his sisters Alma Peters and Ellen McTaggart and his brothers Wilfred Koski and Wayne Abrahamson and two nephews, Dennis Peters and Larry Peters In respect of his wishes there will be no funeral service for Helge but a memorial tribute will be held at 2 p m on Saturday May 24, 1997 at the Sylvan Lake Lodge As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to a chanty of donors choice In living memory a tree will be planted in H J Cody Memorial Garden
