Cora Ruth Bory, 88, of Dover, died Friday, May 7, 2004, in Union Hospital, Dover, following a brief illness.

Born Aug. 13, 1915, in Uhrichsville, she was a daughter of the late Jesse and Clara Hicks Bridgeman. Ruth attended Rock School, and was employed by the Belmont Stamp and Enameling Co., Reeves Steel Co., Allied Machine, and Dover Mold and Plastic Co., all at Dover. Most importantly, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Ruth was a member of the Dover Bible Church. She very much enjoyed gardening and her cats.

Survivors include her husband of seventy-two years, Fred A. Bory, whom she married Apr. 18, 1932; a daughter, Dolly (Don) Orr of Johnstown; three sons, Lowell (Sue) Bory of Dover, Terry Bory of Massillon, and Jeff (Germaine) Bory of Carrollton; five grandchildren, Amy, Adam (a Marine stationed in Okinawa, Japan) and Rhoda Bory, Debbie and Doug Orr; four great-grandchildren, Doug, Brad, Steven and William Orr; two sisters, Rose (Reuben) Keener of Parral and Marge Davis of Pioneer; a brother, Austin (Opal) Leggett; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Sam, Bory; a sister, Leota Karns; and two brothers, Tom Leggett and Ed Bridgeman.

A funeral service celebrating Ruth's life will be held Monday, May 10, at 1 p.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover, with Pastor Max Canfield of the First Church of the Brethren, New Philadelphia, officiating. Burial will be in Dover Burial Park.
