Walter Lee Baldridge, retired Dyer business man, died at his home here last Friday, Dec 26, following a two-year illness. He was 84.
Mr Baldridge was a life-long resident of Dyer. He owned and operated the City Lumber Company for 44 years until his retirement three years ago. He was a director of the Farmers & Merchants Bank and had served as an Alderman and on the Dyer School Board. He was a Methodist and a Mason.
Services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 at the Dyer Methodist Church by Rev H F Clayton, pastor, assisted by Rev G P McIllwain. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery, Baird Bros in charge.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Claude Orr Baldridge, a son J R Baldridge, both of Dyer and a half sister, Mrs Eva Hickman of Centerville, Tenn.
