She married after 1860 Jiles B. Beal son of Sarah Scronce (or Sarah Shrum 24) (1812-1885) and Christopher Beal (1803-1886). Jiles was born February 28, 1843; died May 5, 1923; buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Gastonia, Gaston Co., NC.

Jiles was a wagoner prior to enlisting September 6, 1862, aged 19, in Iredell County, NC, in Co. D, 23rd Regiment, NC Troops. He was present or accounted for until discharged January 28, 1863, as a result of "permanent contraction of elbow joint" caused by a pre-war injury. He enlisted October 17, 1864, for the duration of the war in Company B, same regiment. He was present until December 1864; detailed for hospital duty at Danville, Virginia; and reported absent on detail through April 9, 1865.
