From: "Pennsylvania Genealogies" [Linn of Lurgan], William Henry Egle, Harrisburg, PA, 1896, pp. 367-382:

Attorney-at-law in Albany, NY; unmarried, died 1837 - possibly should read 1887.

"Linn of Lurgan" also names him 'James Henry Linn', but everywhere else he is called 'Henry James Linn'.

Along with many other attorneys of the day, some of them notable, Henry J. Linn studied law with New York Representative Harmanus Bleecker. One such list was printed with the obituary of Harmanus Bleeker printed in the Albany Evening Journal, Thursday, August 9, 1849.

*****

From the 'New York Evening Post', March 26, 1822 and other issues of the same paper around that time: "Richard Varick DeWitt and Henry J. Linn have formed a connexion as Attorneys-at-Law in the City of Albany. Office No. 64 State St."

*****

Listed in The Albany Directory for the year 1828-9, 1828, SCOTT, Ira W.. Albany; Printed by Webster & Wood, No. 71, State-street: Henry J. Linn; Occupation(s): attorney legal professions(a); Address(es): Park place, Albany, New York.

If "Linn of Lurgan" is correct, and Henry Linn's death ocurred is 1837 in Albany, his first burial would have been in an an Albany city or church cemetery.

His remains then could have been moved to this cemetery about 1866 and placed in the group graves found in section 49.

However:

The 1830 Newfield, Tompkins County NY Federal Census shows Henry Linn living in Newfield, Tompkins County, NY, with a wife and one child. By 1840, Henry Linn is living in Caroline, Tompkins County, NY with his wife and six children, although Linn of Lurgan states that he was unmarried and passed away in 1837.
