Mr. Bell had worked as a supervisor for Olinkraft and Jefferson Smurfit. He was born Aug. 22, 1927, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of Edward and Lucille Lovins Bell. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and attended Trinity Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his wife, the former Norma Kirchner, whom he married Nov. 10, 1999, in Kankakee; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Dinah Bell of Round Lake Beach, John and Joni Bell of Phoenix, Ariz.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sandy and Robert Miller of Phoenix, Ariz., Char McDonough of Grayslake, Cindy and Ryan Denault of Herscher; six stepdaughters and three stepsons-in-law, Donna and Richard Chambers of Ohio, Diana and Ernie Morales of New Mexico, Patt Yactzak of Herscher, Trina Jennings of Bradley, Debbie and Brant Dodds, and Lisa Jennings, all of Herscher; 25 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; and two sisters and one brother-in-law, Lucy Mae and Elsworth Anderson of Reading, Ohio, and Noreen Campbell of Gaylord, Mich.
Deceased are an infant son, Michael Robert Bell; one stepgrandson, Nicholas Matthew Yactzak; and one brother, Bobby Bell.
