Actor. A tall and athletic leading man, he experienced a successful run in second features during the 1950s, before abruptly ending his career the following decade. He will perhaps be best remembered for playing 'Adam MacLean' in the TV series "Man Without a Gun" (1957 to 1959). Born Rex George Reason, Jr., in Germany, while his family was on a business trip, he was raised in California and following service with the United States Army, he studied Acting at the Pasadena Playhouse. Hollywood soon took notice and he was cast for the lead in the Adventure "Storm Over Tibet" (1952). This was followed with the war effort "Mission Over Korea" (1953) and the Western "Smoke Signal" (1953). Reason would go on to co-star with Jeff Morrow in the Science-Fiction pictures "This Island Earth" (1955) and the third installment of the "Creature from the Black Lagoon" titled "The Creature Walks Among Us" (1956). He co-starred with Clark Gable in "Band of Angels" (1957) and experienced starring roles in "Under Fire" (1957), "The Rawhide Trail" (1958) and "The Miracle of the Hills" (1959). Reason's last prominent role was playing 'Scott Norris' in the TV series "The Roaring 20's" (1960 to 1961). After leaving the entertainment industry, he worked as a real estate broker. He was the older brother of actor Rhodes Reason.
