James "Winston" Creech 84 of Boones Mill, VA went to be with his heavenly father on October 14, 2014 after fighting a long battle with Alzheimers. He was born December 20, 1929 in Johnston County, NC where he grew up with his family on a tobacco and cotton farm they owned. After leaving NC with his wife in 1951, he began his career in commercial insulation with CE Thurston and Sons in Portsmouth, VA working in the Norfolk Naval Shipyards for many years before moving to Roanoke to continue in insulation and later forming his own company with his son, C&C Insulation in Martinsville, VA. He was a member in good standing since 1957 (57 Years) with the Masonic Lodge, Western Branch Lodge #189, Portsmouth, VA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Manley Stanford and Mandy Viola Renfrow Creech; his brothers, Bobby Creech, Edward Creech and M.A. Creech; his son-in-law Jerry Ensor.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Margaret Hood Creech; his children, Sandra Ensor, Wayne Creech and Phyllis Meador (Jeff); his grandchildren, Brian Ensor and fiancé Rachel, Crystal Creech Austin (Gary), Carey Ensor Hargenrader (James) and Justin Creech (Tiffany); his great grandchildren, Brionna Ensor, Dylan Austin, Lucas Hargenrader and Delaney Creech; one sister, Ethel Durham (Wilbert) of Dunn, NC; sisters-in-law, Annie Ruth Jones of NC and Marguerite Creech of NC; many nieces and nephews.

Flowers are appreciated, it is preferred donations be made to the Alzheimer?s Association, Central & Western Chapter, 3959 Electric Road, Roanoke, VA 24018 or Hospice of the Shenandoah, PO Box 215, Fishersville, VA 22939. Funeral services will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel on Sat., Oct.18 at 2:00 pm. Chaplain Rick Poland will officiate. His family will receive friends one hour prior to service and other times at the Creech Family Home. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Park.
