Mary J. Berry Died Sunday from Cancer
Native of North Carolina was Aged over Eighty-five Years

Mary J. Berry, widow of the late William A. Berry, passed away at 3:15 o’clock Sunday afternoon at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. W. B. Oller in Johnson Township, aged more than 85 years. She had suffered from cancer of the face during the past twenty years, and had been in a serious condition since October, 1918, her mind having become affected because of that affliction.
Funeral arrangements had not been completed at the time members of the time were interviewed this morning. Deceased was born October 24, 1833, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Norton of Statesville, North Carolina, and died aged 85 years, 5 months and 13 days. She was married there in 1851 to William A. Berry, and moved to this county in 1866, settling in Johnson Township.
Surviving their union are two sons, Robert of Delaware, Oklahoma and James of Johnson Township; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas Hill of Palmer and Mrs. Mollie Oller, with whom she made her home for thirteen years past and at whose home she passed away; also 27 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Deceased affiliated herself with the Providence Methodist Church early in life and remained true to her faith until the end.
