Mrs. Effie M. Orton Dies in Bedford
Mrs. Effie May Orton, 90, died Sunday, March 30 at a rest home in Bedford, where she had been a patient the past three years.
She was born Sept. 9, 1867, in Nodaway county, Mo., the daughter of the late George W. and Joanna Greenlee. She was married Jan. 10, 1895, to Matthew Orton, who preceded her in death. She was a member of the Bedford Methodist church.
Survivors are a stepdaughter, Mrs. Anna McCormick of Bedford, and a nephew, Claude Grotey of Hopkins.
Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Tuesday at the Swanson funeral Home, Hopkins. Rev. Maurice Magers officiated. Burial in Hopkins cemetery.
