SOPERTON-Jakie Elvin Young, 76, died Wednesday, February 12. Services will be 2P.M., Friday, February 14 at Red Bluff Baptist Church. Burial is in Westview Cemetery, Soperton.
Mr. Young was a native of Laurens County and was the sons of the late Jake J. and Martha Stewart Young. He was the retired owner/operator of Young's Chevron Station, Soperton, and was retired from Treutlen County Board of Education. From 1972 to 1989, he served as Fire Chief on the Soperton-Treutlen Fire Department and also served on the Soperton City Council from 1971-1978. He was a member of the Red Bluff Baptist Church, Treutlen County. He was married to the late Mildred Johnson Young.
Visitation is Thursday, 7:00 until 9:00 P.M., at the funeral home.
