Kristi R. Bender, 48, died Nov. 19, 2015, at Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington. Born April 5, 1967, in Great Bend, she was the daughter of David and Linda (Kratzer) Monroe. On July 1, 1995, she married Leo Bender Jr., in Great Bend. A resident of Great Bend for 25 years, coming from Geneseo, she was an Avon salesperson and baker.

Mrs. Bender was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and the Altar Society in Great Bend.

Survivors include her husband, Leo Bender Jr. of the home; father, David Monroe of Blakeslee, Pa.; mother, Linda Monroe of Geneseo; two sisters, Kelly Archer of Temecula, Calif., and Kathy McLouth and her husband Rusty of Kansas City, Mo.; two brothers, Kerry Monroe and his wife Catie of McPherson, and Kasey Monroe of Lawrence; sister-in-law, Stefanie Ann Shumate of Great Bend; mother-in-law, Betty Bender of Great Bend; and nine nieces and nephews.

Altar Society Rosary will be at 4 p.m. and Vig il Service will be at 7 p.m., today at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery North. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. today at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to Barton County Relay for Life, in care of the funeral home.
