Obituary:
Mary Gibson, 87, of Leesburg, died Thursday, November 7, 2002 in the Palmyra Nursing Home in Albany. She was born August 4, 1915 in Appling County and had resided in Leesburg for the past 27 years. Mrs. Gibson was a homemaker and a member of the Philema Road Baptist church. She was the daughter of the late Robert Campbell and the later Margie Carter Campbell. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Raymond Gibson of Leesburg; three sons, John W. Gibson of Leesburg, Paul Gibson of Dadeville, Ala, and Milton Edward of Albany; one brother, Robert Campbell of Camilla; two grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive. Funeral services were held Saturday, Novemeber 9 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of David E. Miles Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Harris and the Rev. B. D. Carter officiating. Eulogy given by Nick Campbell. Burial followed in Ten Mile Creek Church Cemetery of Baxley. Active pallbearers were Johnny Campbell, David Campbell, Nick Campbell, Mike Gardner, Bret Campbell, Chris Campbell and Rex Campbell. Musical selections were rendered by Chris Campbell and organist, Larry Vanadoe. Arrangements were under the direction of David E. Miles Funeral Home.
