Evelyn Dianne Ackerman, 64, of Columbia, was born on October 25, 1950 in Spartanburg, SC, and passed away peacefully at Providence Hospital on Monday, June 8, 2015. She was the oldest daughter of the late Evelyn Kimbrell Hutto and Henry Dukes Ackerman.

She is survived by her sister, Beth King (Joe); brothers, Henry Dukes, Jr. (Linda); and Roy (Joanne); nieces; nephews; and great nephews.

Evelyn attended and graduated from Lexington High School in 1968. She loved to laugh and make others laugh with her quick wit and humor. She loved children and animals, especially her mama's pet chihuahua, Taffy.

At the request of Dianne and her family, she will be cremated by Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium and a private family memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association, 107 Westpark Blvd., Ste. #220, Columbia, SC, 29210.
