Veronise "Bonnie" A. LaVoie, 76, of Ashland, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2007 at Memorial Medical Center in Ashland.
Bonnie was born March 31, 1931 in Sheboygan, the daughter of Edward and Veronis L. (Crabbe) Buhk. On November 3, 1973 she was united in marriage to Fredrick J. LaVoie at Sheboygan. She was a homemaker and owned and operated an adult foster care home for many years. She was a member of the Pythian Sisters and the Music Club. She enjoyed collecting and repairing dolls but she received the most enjoyment from spending time with her family, who she loved very much.
Survivors include her daughters, Sue Ann (William) Waldron of Ashland, Laura (Tony Gast) Thomas of Ashland, and Michele (Kenneth) Bible of Lorena, Texas; her son, Mark Potis of Milwaukee; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorthea Wick of Covington, Ky. and Joy (Frank) Roman of San Antonio, Texas; brother-in-law, Jerry Moore of Covington, Ky. and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Fredrick in May of 1976; one brother, Irving; two sisters, Sandra and Sonia; and one grandson, Christopher Thomas.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 10 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with President William McPherson officiating. Private family interment will take place in the Kossuth Cemetery near Manitowoc. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the church and continue until the hour of the service.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Mountain Funeral Home of Ashland and Mellen
