Sweetwater, Aug. 28 - Funeral for Mrs. John J. Perry, prominent Sweetwater clubwoman, will be held Monday at 3 p.m. in the First Methodist Church.
Mrs. Perry died Saturday at 9:05 a.m. in Sweetwater Hospital. She had been ill about a month.
Cate-Spencer Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements and burial at Sweetwater Cemetery. The Rev. Jerald McCullum of the First Methodist Church and Tom Johnson of Abilene will conduct the services.
Mrs. Perry was born Ione Dulaney, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Dulaney, prominent bankers and ranchers in Nolan County.
Mrs. Perry was elected president of the Texas Federation of Women's Clubs in May of 1947 at a meeting in Houston. At that time, she had been a member of the organization's board of directors for 16 years and had been active in club work for 33 years. She was given a life membership in the TFWC and was active in work with the General Federation of Women's Clubs.
In Sweetwater, she was a member of the Sorosis Club.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Jack; two sisters, Mrs. Tom S. Flack and Janice D. Reese; and a brother, J. N. Dulaney.
