On November 23, 1868 Mary Elizabeth was united in marriage to Edwin Sargent Cook. Together the couple had at least ten children, Harry, Idella, William, Carroll, John, Daniel, Emma, Phineas, Lawrence and Joseph.
Around 1890 the family moved to Pleasant Ridge, Lee County, Iowa were they lived on a farm. About 1911 Mary Elizabeth moved to New London, Henry County, Iowa. After Edwin's death she lived with her son Carroll and later with son John.
