Caroline, wife of William Goss, died at her home at Hastings, at 5 o'clock Tuesday evening, Nov. 18, of Bright's disease. Aged 70 years 1 month and 4 days.
Deceased's maiden name was Caroline Westbrook and she was born in Huntingdon on October 14, 1843. She was married to William Goss in Wallaceton, Clearfield County, on February 22, 1858. They came to Hastings in 1890 and have resided here for 23 years.
Besides her husband Mrs. Goss is survived by these children: Mrs. Marshall McHenry, of Hastings; Frank, of West Virginia; Mrs. Louis Stowe, of Brisbin; Elmer, of Expedit; Mrs. Joseph Chase of Clearfield; Harry of Clover; Jackson of Garrett; and Mrs. Stephen Ross, of Expidet. She is also survived by 43 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
The funeral services were held in the Methodist Episcopal Church on Friday at ten o'clock, conducted by her pastor, Rev. W. F. D. Noble, who spoke of the religious life to the service of the Master.
She identified herself with the United Brethren Church but not finding a church of that denomination in Hastings she joined the Methodist Espiscopal Church of which she was a devoted member at the time of her death.
Thus for fifty-eight years she was a follower of the meek and lowly One and "she is not dead, but sleepeth."
