Terry Greer, 58, of Sweetwater, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2003 at his residence.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003 at McCoy Chapel of Memories in Sweetwater with Ervin Lehrman officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Family visitation will be held Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home. Arrangements were made under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Mr. Greer was born Oct. 5, 1944 in Sweetwater. He married Gayle Reed on Sept. 11, 1965 in Sweetwater. He is a 1963 graduate of Newman High School and was a member of First Christian Church was he served as an Elder. He retired from TXU, where he worked as a budget director, on June 28, 2003 after 37 years. He had lived in Sweetwater for 49 years before moving to Midland in 1992. He had coached Little League Baseball and was instrumental in getting the National League Baseball Park built. He was a member of the Sweetwater Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, Gayle Greer, of Sweetwater; one daughter, Tracy Greer of Austin; one son, Brad Greer of Houston; two brothers, Tommy Greer and wife, Carolyn of Maryneal and Gerald Greer of Big Spring; and two grandchildren, Bayli Greer and Kaci Greer, both of Lubbock.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Truman and Vestlene Greer.
Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
