He was the son of Jonathan Parker, Esquire, also known as Lt. Jonathan Parker, Jr., and his second wife Polly Sherman, both of Plympton, Massachusetts.

He married Helen Maria Parker, daughter of Jacob Parker and Lucy Dunbar, on June 25, 1851 in New Bedford, Massachusetts.

Snippets of the handwritten birth and marriage records are attached as proof that I've got the correct Jonathan Parkers linked.
