Gunshot


Sweetwater - A. D. Davis, 51, of Sweetwater, was dead on arrival of gunshot wounds at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital. A suspect is being held in connection with the case.

According to police, the shooting was the result of a domestic argument between two men. The shooting occurred at the Stanley Hotel.

Services are pending at McCoy Funeral Home.

Born March 25, 1925 in Nacogdoches, he married Earline Phillips on Feb. 15, 1952 in Oakland, California. He was employed by Lone Star Industries at Maryneal.

Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Betty Ann Knox, Tressie May Davis, Helen Loren Davis, all of Sweetwater, Janis Ruth Davis of Dallas, and Carolyn Williams of Colorado City; a son, A. D. Davis of Sweetwater; and a brother, Dan, of Sweetwater.
