He was born Oct. 30, 1929 in Star to Avery Poe and Lera Della Flatt Poe. He married Floy Woodard on June 2, 1950 in Abilene. He was a rancher and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Floy Poe of Bryan; sons, Wyman Poe and wife Kayla of Navasota and Randy Poe of College Station; daughter, Pam Sigler and husband Dennis of Bryan; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roland Poe and wife Lavita of Hamilton and Wayne Poe and wife Aggie of China Spring; and two sisters, Nelda Smith and husband Roy of Lampasas and Geraldine Geeslin of Hamilton.
