Elizabeth Doris “Lib” Gilliam, 89, Christian Health Center, died at 3:15 a.m. Sunday, May 8, 2011, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hughart and Beard Funeral Home, Hopkinsville, with the Rev. Dr. Tom Barta and the Rev. Jim Hazelrigg officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A native of Bardstown, she was born Sept. 14, 1921, the daughter of the late Claude H. and Mary Lucille Greenwell Flynn. She was a long-time resident of the Newstead community where she and her husband owned and operated Country Boy Store. She was a homemaker and had worked as a cafeteria assistant at Millbrooke Elementary School. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Her husband, R.E. Gilliam Jr., died in 2002. Survivors include a son, Robert Paul Gilliam, Henderson; a daughter, Deborah Gilliam Kelly, Louisville; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
