Charles (Chuck) Edwin Johnson, longtime resident of Glen Ellyn and Naperville, born Aug. 13, 1919, died peacefully on Nov. 11, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He attended Proviso East High School and Purdue University, and served in the Army Air Corps in WWII. Beloved husband to Doris Robertson Johnson (deceased) from 1942 to 1993 and Irene Leroux Johnson since 1997. Devoted father of six children: Mary Adams (Conrad) Patricia Vicha, Barbara Reising (Phil), Charlene Zimmerman (Jack), Gary Johnson (Cherryl), Cynthia Beck (Allan). Dearest grandfather to 12 grandchildren and loving great-grandfather to 19 great-grandchildren. An electrical engineer, he retired from Kelso-Burnett Electrical Contracting Company as Senior Vice President and later consulted for Jamerson Electrical. He loved his family, his country and Purdue University. Visitation Monday, November 16th from 3 to 8 PM at Leonard Memorial Home, 565 Duane Street, Glen Ellyn where a service will be held Tuesday morning, November 17th at 10 AM. Internment to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Glen Ellyn. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Seasons Hospice. For funeral information call 630-469-0032.
